Yuma County Arizona Fairgrounds Events
Yuma County Fairgrounds is one of the busiest event sites in southwestern Arizona. The grounds host more than 300 events a year, including a six-day spring county fair, a fall festival, a long-running rodeo, a large amateur radio convention, car shows, RV rallies, quinceañeras and weddings.
This guide covers what the fairgrounds are, who runs them, what is on the calendar, and how to take part as a visitor, exhibitor, vendor or 4-H and FFA family. Where details change from year to year, I say so and point you to the fair office.
Overview of Yuma County Fairgrounds
Location
The fairgrounds are at 2520 East 32nd Street, Yuma, Arizona 85365. The city of Yuma is the county seat, and the grounds are on its east side. An older event listing describes the entrance as off Avenue 2½ East. The fair office phone is 928-726-4420, and the office is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Size and layout
One event organizer describes the property as over 100 acres. Buildings range from about 1,600 square feet to over 20,000 square feet. The main facilities include:
- Legacy Event Center: a modern building of roughly 19,000 to 20,000 square feet, used for vendors, weddings, parties and meetings
- Theatre Building: holds open class exhibits during the fair
- 4-H and FFA buildings: the youth project displays
- Grandstands: seating about 8,000 on both sides, with partial cover on one side
- Beer garden: available for small groups and events
- Open grounds: for RV rallies, motorsports, car shows and concerts
Who runs it
Yuma County Fair, Inc., a private nonprofit corporation, runs the grounds year-round. It is not a county government agency. It is a separate group from the Silver Spur Rodeo committee, which rents the grounds each year.
How long it has operated
The spring fair held its 74th annual edition in 2026, which points to a start in the early 1950s. The fair’s own site uses that numbering. The Fall Fest, by contrast, is new. It began in 2022 and held its fifth edition this month.
Why it matters locally
Yuma sits in one of the country’s major winter vegetable growing regions, and the county’s population swells each winter with seasonal visitors. The fair connects the farm side of the county with youth livestock programs, and the grounds serve as a winter gathering place for visitors.
Upcoming Events at Yuma County Fairgrounds
Where things stand right now
The 5th Annual Fall Fest runs October 16-18, 2026, so it wraps up today. Still ahead on the fairgrounds’ calendar:
- October 31: a family event running 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., listed at $1 per person or $5 for a fast pass
- December 11-12: the Winter Wonder Holiday Soiree, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with free admission
- Winter and early spring: the Silver Spur Rodeo and Yuma Hamfest, both typically in February
- Spring: the Yuma County Fair, expected in late March or early April 2027
Seasonal pattern
Yuma’s calendar follows the weather. Fall through spring is busy because summers are brutally hot. Winter brings rallies, hamfests, shows and the rodeo. Spring brings the county fair. October brings Fall Fest. Summer is quiet and mostly indoors.
Finding the schedule
The Yuma County Fairgrounds website lists upcoming events, fair details, ticket links, the premium book and vendor information. You can also call 928-726-4420 or email [email protected].
Visitors exploring Yuma County Arizona Fairgrounds Events can also discover community gatherings through Yavapai County Arizona Fairgrounds Events. Both counties offer opportunities to enjoy seasonal activities, explore local traditions, and discover community celebrations that bring families and visitors together throughout Arizona.

Renting the grounds
The fairgrounds rent space for almost any event: animal shows, concerts, weddings, quinceañeras, trade shows, motorsports, RV shows and rallies, company and private parties, art shows, car shows, dog shows, proms, monster truck shows, fitness expos, and meetings. Tables and chairs come with facility rentals. Rentals are booked through an event application on the website, and the office says it replies within about a week.
The Yuma County Fair
Name and timing
The annual event is the Yuma County Fair, and recent years have used the slogan “County Fair With A Desert Flair.” The fair runs six days, Tuesday through Sunday, in late March or early April:
- 2025: April 1-6
- 2026: March 31 to April 5 (the 74th annual)
The 2027 dates had not been posted as of October 2026, although the 2027 premium book is already available. Expect the same time of year.
Competitions and exhibits
The premium book is the key document. Categories across recent fairs include:
- Junior livestock: market and breeding beef, sheep, goats and swine, plus rabbits, dairy goats, horses and dog obedience
- 4-H and FFA projects: photography, home economics, clothing and textiles, school enrichment and outreach
- Open class exhibits: fine arts, horticulture, floral design, needleart, foods and more
Open exhibits are in the Theatre Building, and the Legacy buildings house vendors, food demonstrations and performances.
Carnival, entertainment and the derby
A carnival with rides and games is part of the fair. The fair advertises free daily entertainment, including local talent, bands, main stage acts, strolling acts and Guido’s Family Stage. The demolition derby has long been a draw, and it is included with a regular admission ticket.
Admission
Admission has risen over the years. For the 2026 spring fair, online tickets listed general admission (13 and up) at $9.72 and youth (6 to 12) at $7.56 with fees. Fall Fest 2026 was $9 for ages 13 and up, $7 for youth and free for 5 and under. Ride wristbands are sold separately from admission. Confirm 2027 prices before you go.
Facilities and Grounds
Buildings and grandstand
The grandstands hold about 8,000 people and are used for the demolition derby, rodeos, concerts and monster truck shows. The Legacy Event Center has large restrooms, and one organizer says they are open 24 hours during its event.
Camping and RV
The fairgrounds offer overnight camping. Posted rates are $20 for dry camping and $30 for limited-connection camping with water and electricity. There is a sewer dump and shower facilities on the grounds, although there are no sewer hookups at sites. One organizer describes the camping area as mostly grass and notes the grounds were not built as an RV park. Camping rules and availability depend on the event, so book through the office.
Parking, accessibility, amenities
The Hamfest organizer describes a newly paved parking lot and about 20 acres of parking. I could not confirm ADA parking, a first aid station or ATMs. Call ahead if you need an accessible route.
Vendor and Exhibitor Information
Vendors
The fairgrounds’ website has a Vendor Info page. A fair directory listing showed an art and craft deadline of January 3 for 2026, with food and music open until full. Expect similar timing for 2027 and apply early.
Exhibitors
The 2027 premium book lists entry forms and deadlines. In past books, 4-H and FFA entries were due in early March, and carcass class entries in late February. Ask the office for the current schedule.

Getting to Yuma County Fairgrounds
The fairgrounds are on the east side of Yuma. Use 32nd Street, a main east-west road, and look for the Avenue 2½ East entrance. Interstate 8 runs through Yuma, and the city is the county seat, so you do not need to leave the city to reach the grounds. I did not find public transit or a fair-week shuttle. Rideshare drop-off arrangements are not published, so ask the office.
4-H and FFA at Yuma County Fairgrounds
Junior Livestock Committee
The Yuma County Fair has a Junior Livestock Committee that governs the junior livestock program with representatives from 4-H and FFA. Exhibitors must follow its rules. In one year’s premium book, the auction was capped at 385 lots, and exhibitors wore official 4-H or FFA show attire. I could not confirm a current number of Yuma County 4-H clubs or a list of participating FFA chapters, so I am not naming any.
The junior livestock auction
Junior livestock shows run daily from 8 a.m. during the fair. The auction has a small stock sale in the morning and a large livestock sale in the afternoon. Proceeds go to the exhibitors, and local buyers bid on market animals. The date and rules for 2027 will be in the premium book.
Special Events Beyond the Annual Fair
- Yuma Silver Spur Rodeo: the 81st annual was February 2026, with three performances. Adult general admission was $28 to $35 depending on the day and whether you buy in advance, with discounts for military, first responders and seniors, and kids 10 and under free.
- Yuma Hamfest: a two-day amateur radio convention in late February that takes over the grounds, with swap meet and tailgating
- Arizona Gun & Knife Show: listed at the grounds
- Car shows, RV shows and motorcycle rallies
- Winter Wonder Holiday Soiree in December
History of Yuma County Fairgrounds
The fair’s edition number suggests it began in the early 1950s. The Silver Spur Rodeo is a few years older, with its 80th annual held in 2025. The newest big addition is the Legacy Event Center, which opened recently. I could not verify attendance records, cancellations or other history, so I am not guessing.
